Operating instructions and tips for setting up the Inkbird WiFi Swimming Pool Thermometer Bundle

To install, you need to install the "Inkbird Pro" app. These can be found in the iOS and Android app stores.

Tips and Notes:

  • In order to be able to connect the Inkbird WLAN Gateway to the app, your smartphone must be connected to a 2.4 GHz WLAN network. Newer routers broadcast in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. During setup, connect your smartphone to the 2.4 GHz band.
  • Do not insert the batteries into the devices until you have successfully connected the gateway to the app. Then the gateway should automatically recognize the devices within a few minutes.
  • If the gateway setup fails, reset the WIFI connection on the gateway: Press and hold the "WI-FI" button for 5 seconds and try the setup again.
  • If the thermometers are not displayed in the app in the gateway area, remove the batteries from the devices, press and hold the reset button on the gateway for 5 seconds and reinsert the batteries.
  • Make sure you always use the latest version of the "Inkbird Pro" app.

Sometimes the setup just doesn't want to succeed. Yes, the app will probably not win an award for user-friendliness. Also, the translations into languages ​​other than English are not very good. Nevertheless, once the device has been successfully set up, one enjoys it. If the setup does not succeed right away, proceed as follows:

Completely on factory settings:

  1. Press and hold the reset button on the gateway for 5 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the WI-FI button on the gateway for 5 seconds.
  3. Unplug the gateway.
  4. Hold the TX button on the pool thermometer (inside) for 5 seconds.
  5. Press and hold the CH/R button on the display for 5 seconds.
  6. Remove the batteries from all devices.
  7. Connect your smartphone to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
  8. Start the Inkbird Pro App and start setting up the IBS-M1 Gateway by clicking on "+".
  9. If the setup was successful, reinsert all the batteries one at a time.
